A full body scrub is essentially a massage using an exfoliant such as salt, sugar or sea salt mixed with a selected massage oil, plus an aromatic essential oil. When salt is used it is sometimes known as a salt scrub or a salt glow, a name which give a clear indication of the effect this wonderful treatment has on the skin as the light abrasion of the salt, or sugar, leaves the skin soft and smooth. It is, in effect, a facial for the whole body as it both exfoliates and hydrates.
Following this massage an intensive body lotion or cream is applied keeping the skin hydrated. A body scrub incorporates the relaxing effects of a full body massage together with the skin softening, enlivening exfoliation of the scrub, which results in a wonderful healthy appearance.
